Covid-19 is no joke, once you get it you’ll understand why it has affected so many families including mine.
My mom was the first person to test positive, but a week before is when she started feeling a bit sick. We thought it was just a normal cough and sore throat. But as the days went by she gradually got worse. So we told her to quarantine in a room away from the rest of the family since we have my grandparents living with us.
A few days later she goes to get texted, but that same day my sister got sick. So we instantly all went to go get tested including my grandparents, and we all waited.
My mom’s results came the next day and she was positive. My mom stayed in another room away from my dad, and the rest of us stayed in our own rooms. The day after I got a personal call from my doctor. She said “Your test results came back positive”, but I told her that I felt good and that I don’t have any symptoms at all. So she told me I was asymptomatic.
My sister, and my grandparents also came out positive, the only person who was negative was my dad. But because he's been here with the family he also had to quarantine for 2 weeks.
My dad was taking care of the family while trying to maintain a clean and sanitized house. Every time we touched something we had to clean it, we had so many gloves and hand sanitizer all over the house.
My sister was really sick throughout the quarantine. “I was congested, I lost my scent and taste,” my sister said.
Regardless if you are hungry or not you can't even taste the food you eat or even smell it. She goes on by saying “I felt weak and tired, but my migraines were the worst, I couldn’t even open my eyes.
I had to block my window so my room looked dark.” Although my sister got really sick, my grandma was the one who got impacted the most.
Throughout the quarantine she coughed so much. Even after our quarantine ended she still coughed a lot. On Tuesday morning I was woken by my grandpa, he told me to call 911 because my grandma couldn’t breath. She was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks.
It was hard because they don’t let you in to visit her, and we were scared we had no idea what happened to her. A few days later the doctor called my mom, they said my grandma had pneumonia.
All that coughing and lack of oxygen was because of the pneumonia. But it didn’t end there, about 4 days later we were told she had a minor stroke as well.
We were all scared for my grandma. She was all alone in the hospital for 2 weeks, but we stayed strong for her.
Luckily my grandma was able to come home healthy. But we still have to care for her and always keep a constant eye on her, to make sure nothing happens to her.
