A Yerba Buena High School student named Mark went through hard times, lost a family member very important to him, didn’t get excited about anything anymore, and was losing a lot of hope for his future, he just wasn’t himself. But throughout these hard moments, he discovered music by trying it out and realized that it was his passion that he enjoyed which motivated him to work harder.
“I just believe music is my passion that motivates me to try hard in life,” “says Soria.”
When he started high school, he finally realized that he doesn’t get excited about anything, he just found things boring now since they weren’t interesting to him like when he was a little kid, main reason was that he matured into a new person “In freshman year, I really stop getting excited about anything, I just wasn’t the same kid I used to be before”
He also experienced a big tragedy when he was in freshman year and he felt hopeless after that, he thought that all the things he would do to show his sister would now be useless, not worth it.
“Losing a family member really impacts you, it changes you.” “says Soria.”In sophomore year though, he found his passion by trying out music(rap), which opened and appealed his eyes and mind which made him bring the joy and hope he needed before as well as some money which has now led him to work harder to achieve success.
“In september 2019, I started to make music which was my passion and converted me into a more hardworking person in life.” Said Soria.
Throughout all these years that have passed, Mark Soria experienced a lot of things, some being traumatic, sad while some being impactful, enjoyable. When he was a kid, around 15, he lost his sister, he thought that all the accomplishments he was going to achieve weren't going to be as worth it anymore.
“Everything that I do in life will be great, but not as impactful to me since I won’t be able to show my sister about my successes.” He indeed loved his sister a lot.
After dealing with the tragedy of his sister, he went into middle school, he would still get excited for many things such as toys, food, phones, etc. He was just a joyful kid that loved and still loves his family at all times.
Unfortunately, he changed differently, Mark said, “ in the beginning of my freshman year, my mind made a twist “persuading” me into not getting motivated or excited about anything.”
But this is where it gets interesting with a big twist. Later on, in September 2019, sophomore year, he decided to try out music so he can earn money, he wasn’t sure if he would be great at it, but he gave it a try and found out he really loved making music instead of doing it for the money, he just felt better.
“I decided to do music, and found out it was passion, money was a motivator of music too, but not completely, music just makes you feel like you are doing something right in life.”
Mark said, “After all these traumatic experiences, and twists life gave me, it made me stronger.”
Now he is making great rap music, with a goal of trying to buy whatever he wants and influence and connect with the audience of how a kid found and motivated himself through making music/money when he felt needless.
“Never give up,” said Soria. He believed that you should always go beyond your limits even when you feel down. He stated a quote that motivated him, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly.”
