A student from Yerba Buena High School is finding ways to improve more as a person mentally. Leah Padilla, a junior, has been working through her negative emotions and is finding ways to improve how she feels
Padilla is working on her time management skills, prioritizing, and emotions, which have been her goals for a couple months. As a young teen dealing with these issues, it can be very hard without any support.
“ Having low motivation and low esteem are few of the reasons that hold me for growth,” said Padilla. She mentions how her childhood took a big role in her life and why she was dealing with her negative thoughts.
Leah says “ I didn't have as much support from my mom growing up because she had to work.” After moving from her old apartment to a new home and school, things didn't go very well. She was extremely upset that she had to adapt to a new home.
She wanted that happiness back, remembering those old good times where she would be running around outside with her neighbor friends not worrying about much.
When Leah started High School she knew it was time to try to do the best for her. She mentions the ways she has been trying to time manage her school work and things that are happening in her life.
“ Having to prioritize tasks I have to do at the moment is a way to help me out instead of doing it later on, “ said Padilla.
Her emotions such as feeling stressed, in a bad mood, unhappy have been making her eat due to feeling these low moods. Leah says “ I really want to be happy, that's my main goal, with myself and have success, that's when I will truly be happy.”
However, Leah has been trying to accomplish it. When something badly is occurring when she seeks to handle it in a better way. She believes that pushing herself to improve her growth as a young teen could impact a lot and continue being that happy person again.
