Life has many detours that can leave one’s energy depleted. Luckily there exist hobbies that one can look forward to, and everyone has some sort of hobby they indulge themselves in, ranging from reading to mountain climbing.
For 17 years old Yerba Buena High School student Selina Tran, her hobby is drawing. She’s been drawing to destress herself and gain satisfaction since she was a child.
On the Yerba Buena campus, Selina has yet to find someone who shares her passion for drawing saying, “I don’t have any artist friends but I’d like to have some.”
Though she doesn’t have any friends who share her hobby that doesn’t stop her from informing her friends about the current art piece she is working on or posting said art on social media. To Selina drawing is now something she regards as important stating
“Drawing is pretty important to me because it’s what I’ve been doing since I was little.”
Like many artists, there are two things that all of them have in common: they have preferences and they had an event that sparked their love for their art in their little way, when asked about her’s she said
“I mostly draw guys only and I draw girls” and “I watched anime and read manga and the art-inspired me to draw.”
To Selina art is many things not just drawing she stated
“Art comes in many different forms of dance, singing music, and other stuff such as drawing.”
And remember people can have more than 1 hobby, an example is Selina reading, playing any kind of sport, and playing video games
“I like to read, play sports, and play video games” and when asked to specify what kind of sports she enjoyed she said, “basically anything you can think of.”
In conclusion, this was a story about one of the many people in the world with a hobby and a passion and when asked about how ingrained drawing was for her she revealed that drawing was very important to her
“I’ve started drawing ever since I was little, I got inspiration from the manga I’ve read and anime/cartoons I’ve watched. I think there’s no limit to art, art comes in so many different forms. People can create so much with it and also inspire others. Art could help people connect and allow them to see things from different perspectives.”
