It's very common to see that siblings don’t get along. It’s easy to misunderstand your siblings and disagree with them sometimes. But for Alanah Pena, a 16 year old student at YB High School, she has a very understanding and caring sister by her side.

Alanah and her older sister Dominique are very close and are each other’s source of joy. They look out for each other and are always trying to strengthen their bond.

“She’s a very happy person and her smile is so bright it can light up anyone's day. She likes to go on adventures like me and just chill at home,”Alanah said.

Alanah has expressed her love for nature. “ I like to go anywhere naturey and to the beach because I really like being outdoors because I love the air and it feels so nice”.

Alanah has grown up with a lot of siblings. Out of all the siblings that she has, Dominique was closest to her.

Alanah stated: “I would say she takes care of me the most because we’ve been through a lot together and when we need each other we know we’ll be there for each other”.

During 2016 the pair suffered a great ordeal after their parents got a divorce. The pair lived with their dad but never got any attention from him. The two comforted each other when their father wasn’t there for them.

Since Alanah and Dominique don’t live together anymore, they usually take the time out of their day to catch up with each other and see how they’re doing.

Alanah also expresses that she’s very grateful to have her sister in her life and that her sister has taught her a lot of life lessons.

“I’ve become more aware of things and I’ve learned a lot from her and she doesn’t get mad at me for little things.” Alanah said.
