Wow can I just say High School sucks this is my unbiased opinion. I definitely haven’t taken 4 years of high school and am very drained of any physical or emotional feelings. But seriously I came into my freshman year of high school filled with joy and now I’m coming out of high school feeling like I just worked for 60 years and can now retire.
I was told during my freshman year that “The next four years are going to be fast” but in my mind this fourth year feels longer than the last three did. I don’t know why but senior year of high school just makes freshman to junior year look like a breeze.
Now everything wasn’t bad. High school does make you realize one thing when you're a senior that you're not a kid anymore. You have to start becoming an adult no matter if you like it or not. You have to venture out more. It was a big step especially for me cause my whole life I’ve been a kid who rarely goes out and talks to complete strangers. But now seeing how life is going to be as an adult you have to talk to complete strangers to get any opportunity in life you want. In this world social anxiety and being scared to speak to others won’t get you anything when you're an adult.
But that's what senior year of high school has taught although some people learn before. This is when I learned to actually talk to others, be your mom or a stranger who asks you questions to see if you're good for the job or not.
My senior year may have not been the best year of high school I’ve had but it was for sure the most impactful one. I say not the best because I went through a long period of sadness and a dark time in life. Where I literally wouldn’t eat for days because I just felt like life wasn’t worth even me attempting to stay alive. But I'm okay now. yes I still have sad thoughts sometimes but I learned life doesn’t stop because you're sad. You have to keep moving. It's okay to cry and stay down for a bit but don’t stay there because there's so much more happiness in life waiting for you. You just have to wait till it’s your time in life to be happy and stay that way.
