Savio Motha, a junior at Yerba Buena, loves to surround himself with his peers. He’s been playing basketball since he was 3 months old. Believes that family can shape who you are and wherever you are in life. He is the youngest out of all his siblings and will still do anything for his sisters.
Ever since he was in Pre-K, he’s always loved to be surrounded by people. No matter if it was a stranger, he just clicks with everybody. He spoke to me and said, “I just like, I thrive around people so it’s like, like, I feel like my personality is more vibrant when I'm around people because it’s like a form of expression I guess you could say. You can direct all your energy you have into a certain area. Especially when you make people laugh, that's just golden.”
Even though he really loves to not be alone, sometimes his independent time is also very important. He specifically told me, “There’s times where I'd rather be alone...there’s times where I wanna be alone and not be disturbed and just think.” He appreciates his own time to himself.
A person that’s like everyone else who loves family, who will do anything for them. “Why do you think family is so important?” he replied with passion in his tone, “Because they shape who you are in life. Family is important to me because I know damn well I will never switch up on my sisters and they will never switch up on me. They can switch up against each other but I have their backs.”
He prioritizes all of his sisters. When interviewing Savio, ”Where would you want to be planted when you pass?” he replied with, “In the ocean, with my little sister. I would want to be planted with my sister since my mom had a misscarriage.” He would do anything to be with family.
People would mostly prefer to be alone since it is always nice but not him. He would absolutely do anything to talk to someone and even make their day by it. He is a kid that will have your back and speak up when you’re in the wrong or somebody else. He is very vibrant.
