You’ve heard people say high school is easy. “Real life starts after high school”. Yet they don't know that it's different for everyone else. Being a student, athlete, and having a job is difficult. Although i believe real life doesn't really start til you start paying bills and having many more responsibilities
Some classes are easier than others but that’s for everything. Some days at work will be harder than other days. You can say highschool is easy but maybe that's because you're not taking Ap or advanced classes. Or maybe because you took highschool or your education as a joke.
High school pressures can be extra stressful for kids who learn and think differently. They might feel more anxious and worried than other kids their age. Meaning if you choose to not take it seriously then it won't be stressful for you regardless, now if you decide to go to a certain college or university you will be stressed whatsoever.
Now being a highschool athlete is twice as stressful because I need to have a certain GPA to be a part of the team. Like the coaches say you're a student athlete your education comes first. Along with the sport comes time, you're at school more than you're at home. Being in a sport is a lot of time consuming because you have practice mostly everyday and games twice a week .
I hardly have any time to do my school work because I get home shower, eat, and sleep. Having a busy week is understandable but having to work on weekends is just having no time for yourself. So when people say being in high school or being a teenager is easy because you have no stress is absolutely untrue. I think stress destroys us in a way because it eats us alive. It gets too much in our heads and we start overthinking too much
Although it's stressful, it's good to be having responsibilities at such a young age because you mature young and you get a glimpse of real life. Having these responsibilities at the age of 16 makes me feel responsible and independent.
Whenever anyone tells me being my age and being in highschool is fun and non stressful makes me wonder how different everyone and their mindsets are. If you choose to do what you do, it will get hard til you get there.
