It all started when I was still a kid. It was my birthday and I got a Hot Wheel gift as a birthday present. I loved it so much to the point where I wanted to start a whole collection of cars. I also started to watch many car movies, more specifically, the Fast and Furious franchise.
It’s awesome seeing modified cars and how fast they can go, and how people can have many ideas on a car build which can compete with exotic cars. It’s the idea that you can take an old slow rusty car and transform it into the most beautiful car there is, also known as a project car.
I met this guy in middle school who became my friend and surprisingly, he is into cars as well, and I am glad to get to know him and share our thoughts and dreams for our future life and our goal with our cars.
I want to be an artist and I still do, but knowing the basic components and inner workings of a car can help me out so that when I have my own car, I won’t have to spend a lot of money for others to do it. For example, modifying our car and enhancing its performance so that it can compete on the streets and on a touge with other people and of course, with my friend.
My friend and I have been to a couple of car meets and have seen multiple cars that inspired us to work hard so that we can pursue the things that we want. We saw many exotic cars, such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani. We told ourselves that one day, we will get those cars as well, but realistically, we were into JDM cars more other than exotics.
Knowing the thrill and joy it gives me when I am in a car gives me a lot of joy and ideas on what to do on my own car in the future—the modifications, the experience, and overall the bond that I will create with others through cars. Going into car meets and seeing other people appreciating everything and the beautiful work that other people have done is a fantastic privilege that I get to experience.
My perspective on cars is pretty different from others. Some people might see old rusty cars as an eye sore, but I see them as an opportunity to bring them back to life. Having joined and been a part of a community that appreciates the worth and the creations of cars is pretty awesome.
Like what my friend would say, cars can be described as works of art on wheels.
