Do you have a friend who has almost the exact same interests as you do? Such as games or hobbies. Now, this might seem a bit too good to be true, almost like a myth. However, this is actually the reality of me and a friend which I’ve known for a long time since middle school.
I met Ethan Hang, a friend who I knew back then in Bridges. We met in art class, and surprisingly, we shared a bunch of the same interests. Maybe it’s some sort of hive mind we share that we don’t know about.
Ethan: “I describe our friendship as a bunch of gamers because all we do is play games and that’s it.”
Despite the fact that we share the same interests like gaming, listening to music, and other stuff like that, we still find it weird how we have the same answers for the things we like to do. It just could all be a big coincidence.
Ethan: “I find it weird that we share the exact same thing because whenever we talk about things, we come up with the same response for some reason.”
Since I like Roblox, Ethan also loves to talk about Roblox too. We usually ramble on about the current changes going on the site, like the new policy, rules, voice chat, and we also talk about the glory days of Roblox when it wasn’t actually that boring and bad.
Ethan: “My favorite years on the platform would be somewhere between 2015. This was when Roblox wasn’t that bad and boring.”
Ethan also talks about the COD franchise and the new and old games around it. The old games like World at War, Modern Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and much more. His favorite game in that series is Modern Warfare 2 as he described it as the time when the franchise was at its peak and the story and gameplay for the game was great.
Back then, I used to watch a lot of anime back then, but now I barely do. For Ethan, however, he still likes to talk about anime and watching it. The show he’s into right now is Attack on Titan, which I watched back then.
Since me and Ethan are long-time Roblox players since we joined around 2015, we’ve seen Roblox change a lot over the years and in fact, Ethan and I are worried about how it might turn out in the future. Especially with the audience that Roblox is trying to target now which is teens/adults.
Ethan: “It’s kinda making me mad, but at the same time also interesting, because they’re removing things that shouldn’t be removed, but adding stuff that people kind want makes me sorta happy. The things that I don’t want removed are the events tab and the new rules are just confusing and weird.”
We also like to talk about music from time to time. Ethan mostly likes rap, such as songs from Eminem, which makes him hyped up the most. His favorite song is “Till I Collapse” because that’s what keeps him going.
I’m glad to have met Ethan in my life and relate to some of the things we have experienced. It’s a rare opportunity for me to be able to fully express myself and how I feel about what’s going on in my life and other news I want to talk about. I hope that friendship can continue even if our path goes separate ways
