Calvin Tang, a student at Yerba Buena High School, is always enthusiastic about getting to travel. While many other teenagers find the wait at the airport boring and unappealing, Tang always enjoys the feeling of waiting in the airport knowing he will get to visit his home country and see his family in Vietnam.
Tang has visited Vietnam a total of around 3 times while he was young. He mostly visits his mom’s side of the family and is always happy while meeting them since he hasn't seen them for years.
“I feel really happy meeting them and it feels like they’re happy to see me and I’m happy to see them,” he said.
When he gets the chance to travel and meet his family, they engage in fun activities such as playing soccer together and hanging out. Visiting Vietnam never gets old for Tang because of how many of his family members are there to spend quality time with.
One of Tang’s most memorable stories about traveling was visiting a mall in Vietnam. When he went to visit Vietnam, he went to a big mall there with his uncle and they were able to look around and catch up with each other.
Tang said, “There were a bunch of stories and it was an amazing experience for me because I haven’t been to Vietnam in a long time and it was nice to talk to him again.”
He was also able to go to a national park which was like a rain forest. He mentions there was a lot of wildlife there and it was a really fun and cool experience which he enjoyed a lot.
Tang enjoys traveling and the feeling that comes with it. He would much rather visit other countries rather than just stay at the same spot his whole life.
Tang said, “It’s just the feeling of getting out of the state because when you stay in one place all your life you get familiarized with everything, but as soon as you travel you can finally see a bunch of things.”
Tang thinks it’s good to be in a different place from time to time rather than just staying at one location your whole life. He’s always happy and ready to go back to visit Vietnam.
