Monse Nogueda is a proud LSU and ASB Student of Yerba Buena who is driven with longing enthusiasm while being heavily involved in our community.
She is willing to take the lead, whether it’s organizing events or making decisions for people around her and herself.
An important standing root of programs like ASB and LSU comes with Leadership skills and from what she learned from these programs alone, the importance of connections are to expand opportunities and serve.
Nogueda: They make me laugh so much and it feels like a friend group, not just a club.
New connections and taking on opportunities gave her the development in fostering her problems and dealing with challenges unexpectedly.
More direct involvement from ASB and LSU makes it easier to plan these events, and her prior year's experience prepared her for a more significant role, where she gained initiative by serving the baile committee.
Nogueda: For me I think being in these programs shows me how to be a leader and how to make tough decisions. But at the same time it comes with a lot of pressure to succeed and to do better. I think It's stressful at times but the outcome makes the experience worthwhile.
One of the focuses, aims to emphasize the diversities of the communities throughout the school community, Monse values this highly because she is in favor of how she is able to be a part of it.
She believes that every student should have an unforgettable experience in school, and she has committed to ensuring all voices are heard and reflected in the events she coordinates in both ASB and LSU.
Nogueda: LSU and ASB really emphasize on being diverse and we include everyone by collabing with the city peace project and making events especially for everyone.
Monse, in her leadership role at ASB, promoted inclusivity by creating diverse events among all students. By adding her voice, she was able to overcome difficult decisions, gain confidence and pride in speaking up for her community, and to lead projects without fear of making mistakes.
The group itself provided variations of social skills in order to collaborate with a wide range of students and administrators.
Nogueda: I think being in asb itself gives you so many leadership skills. I learned a lot of my leadership skills in the class. I learned how to make tough decisions and overcome obstacles.
