Building his future up

Devin Tran, a 16 year old junior at Yerba Buena High School who is simply just trying to enjoy life and trying his best in school to be able to hopefully start a career or get a job related to coding and/or engineering related skills. 

Growing up in an apartment that he has been in the same little apartment since he was born and still being there now has made feel safe and comfortable since he is used to being in the same place. If he were to ever move he thinks that he won't really have a way to process just because he has been in one little apartment his whole childhood.  Having some memories of being babysat and having some childhood friends.

Devin: “I've had a lot of memories because I would get babysat a lot and had a lot of friends that would live nearby.”

Around 3rd grade Tran had a school project and he had to build a house of legos and he realized after the project that he really enjoyed building. As he started growing up he slowly started to realize that he liked building and he wanted to know more about it. He states that when he builds legos he feels relaxed and it helps him get distracted and it's fun for him.

Devin: “It really distracts me from the world and it's also really fun just being able to build anything I want.”

Tran at times wishes how he would have enjoyed his childhood more because he feels like he didn't enjoy his childhood enough. Since you're just a kid you don't have to worry about anything because you're just a kid. 

Devin: “To be honest I wish I could have enjoyed my childhood more instead of wasting time worrying about stuff that didn't really matter.”

Starting his Junior off this school year Tran is hoping to have some free time as well to build legos and make fun memories with family and friends. Although some of his classes will be a little hard since they are AP he still hopes to have time to rest and do his favorite hobby, building legos. 

Fast forward to his junior year he is now taking a coding class and after high school he hopes to find a career with coding or engineering involved since he has realized since a young age that he really enjoyed building with no limits. It makes him feel good and happy so he would like to find a job that he really enjoys. Tran is not fully sure but for now he is really just trying to enjoy life a little more and remembering to take it slow and take breaks.
