If you start craving or thinking of sweets, or seeing something so shiny on the ground or anywhere, what would you automatically think of?
You can think of chocolates, gummies, hard candies, licorice, taffy, and other types of candies/sweets. But what happens if you mix one of these with strawberries or other foods that’ll make it more delicious? Well, that just happened with a particular owner who does it, but makes them cuter with edible decorations. The same goes with glitter, gems, shiny charms, and anything that catches your eye.
That owner is Denise Machuca, a small business owner who makes sure her customers are satisfied with enough decorations and love for their orders. She started making/creating sweet treats (chocolate-covered strawberries and cake pops) around two years ago and received lots of praise for her work, specifically from her loved ones.
Before she started, she was hesitant because her worry was that it wouldn’t reach the audience or hold their interest. But it ultimately reached different customers, including those close to her.
Denise: “I was really hesitant of starting at first, I thought I wouldn’t get customers or get attention to my page.”
With enough support to help with the business from her family, she started to feel more confident and decided to show off more pictures of her work to the whole world. She has gotten a lot of orders so far and is always happy to hear their responses to their order when they receive them.
Denise: “My biggest supporter when I first started was my family and boyfriend, they’ve always been there since day 1 and helped me deliver orders, buy things, and just showing me support and never letting me doubt myself.”
But life sometimes necessitates having a backup plan when things don’t turn out as we imagine. If she thought the business idea wouldn’t work, she would happily end up becoming one of the workers in the medical field with no hesitation, since it became her second goal.
Denise: “I’m soon gonna be going to school for business or ultrasound tech, hopefully soon, but I do for sure want a serious job/career.”
That’s why, hopefully, in the near future, the small treat and bling business would be bigger and more beautiful and would gain everyone’s attention, just like today, along with family to be there to cheer on. No matter what happens, people will be there to remind her that she’ll get to pursue her career freely and happily with confidence, courage, and determination.
Denise: “Yes, I really am, and blessed that I even could say I have my own business.”
