Sixteen-year-old Sarah Dinh is a YB student who enjoys interacting with diverse people. Although she is shy, she has made connections with those who inspired her to pursue and be passionate about things she has always wanted to do or try, and this is where she is today.
Dinh: “What it’s like being a student here in YB is that I find it very interesting. People here have a lot of energy when it comes to spirit week, Fantastics, and football games.”
She also likes to be hyper and goofy. A lot. But it’s okay. That’s a part of her being herself, and she shows it in a way that people can get comfortable with, and Sarah is a real extrovert. She loves to bond with other students and tries not to have any problems communicating with others.
Dinh: “I don’t think I find it that difficult to bond with other students here at YB, as some of y’all know, I am an extrovert.”
Like everyone else, Sarah has accomplishments she wants to achieve not only for herself, but for her family and friends, and that is to graduate from high school and get into college(s) if she has more than one college of choice to go to.
Dinh: “There is, and that is to graduate senior year with a 3.6 and get into UC San Diego.”
Things easily get overwhelming, stressful, difficult, or just not going well, especially with life and the days. But we’ve learned how not to lose hope. One of them is Sarah. She knew how to cope with it without losing hope and went on with the day.
Dinh: “How I start to find hope when things are not going well is by starting to pray to God, hoping things will turn out better than before.”
(Almost)Every student bonds with a teacher. Specifically with their favorite teacher that they can talk or bond with the most, whether it’s for fun or just when they want to talk to them when they haven’t seen or heard from them in a while. Even if it was just a day.
Dinh: “I feel like the teachers I bond with most are Mr. Hang, Mike, Ms. Martin, and other teachers. Depending on their personality.”
Finding a job that you have a great interest in is very important and exciting if you know what you want to be in the near future. Thinking for one is the hardest thing to do, however. Especially with a dream job you desire to have. She (Sarah) wants to work at the front desk at a dental office.
Her passions (or hobbies, rather) are playing basketball, volleyball, and badminton. She is serious about these sports and likes to be competitive about them.
Sarah’s least favorite subjects in school are math. Why? She just doesn’t work well with calculations.
Dinh: “My least favorite subject is math because I just do not work well with numbers.”
Graduating from high school is gonna be a huge change. But as long as you know what to do in life, then you’ll be settled and living the way you imagined (or wanted) to be.
Dinh: “What I want to do after graduating from high school is continue my education, go to college, and then be successful in life, making bank.”
Lastly, going to college is a big part of her and everybody else’s life. Stressful, yes, but they worked their butt off for it.
Dinh: “My dream colleges are UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UCLA, San Diego State University, San Jose State University, and UC Santa Barbara.”
