Starting of high school was not how it is for her now. As a 16-year-old senior now, Claudia Borboa is completely different compared to her during her freshman year. Yet she’s on the right path to making it.
Borboa was a very quiet person, her first year wasn’t the best, she wasn't social at all. She never asked for help even when she needed it the most, because of how shy she was.
She met her closet friend here at Yerba Buena high school. The person she connects with most at this school.
During her first year at Yerba Buena she met her. The person she met made Borboa come out of her comfort zone. She was very antisocial, so she didn’t really talk to many people.
“ Well I met her freshman year, and in the class that we had, I was very quiet, then we started getting along. I was then more open and I would joke around more. I was friendlier,” she explained.
Borboa had learned some of the most important things here. She learned to respect others, and ask for help if and when needed. She learned that she had discovered an entirely new version of herself. She’s grown a lot during this time, becoming more social, communicative, being able to ask for help. She learned this because of her teachers' engorgements, to speak.
“I discovered that I grew a lot in High School in very positive ways. I learned that I have to respect others and that if I need help I can ask anybody, I can get support. I think I’m more social, communicative, and I am not scared of asking questions or asking for help when I need it,” Borboa said.
Now Claudia Borboa isn’t an only child, she has an older brother that at some point, she went to school with. He was an example to do good in school. To stay on the right path, and to focus on that path. He had something to do with making Borboa the person she is today, compared to her first year self.
“My first two years of high school, he came to this school, I kind of looked up to him, how he graduated, and that he was a good example.”
Overall Borboa has improved a lot at Yerba Buena. To becoming more social, being more communicative, and being able to ask for help when and if its ever needed.
