The little brother she didn't ask for, but now cant live without 

When Josseline Ramirez’s baby nephew was born she didn’t dislike him she just tolerated him, when he was first born she couldn’t even stand him. 

But now he's her bestest friend and she can't ever imagine her life without him.

Ramirez is a 12th grader here at Yerba Buena. Ramirez has a baby nephew that is younger than her by 7 years. He is a big impact and part of her life and who she is today.

Even though she might be inseparable from him now, at the beginning when he was first born, she didn't enjoy the fact that she will no longer be the youngest and will have to share the attention.

“At first, I didn’t really like that he is gonna be the youngest, since I was the youngest and since I was the youngest child and I was really young when he was first born I didn’t really like him. I didn’t like sharing the attention, but the more I grew up along with him idk he seemed like a little brother to me.” Ramirez said.

The more they talked and saw each other the closer they got. Leading him to become one of her bestest friends. She also learnt things from him that shaped her as a person.When she picked him up from school he would tell her about his day and she would want to hear more. Making her appreciate him and the little things.

“He taught me how to appreciate people being there and how to build friendships and connections.” Ramirez said.

Growing up as the youngest kid she felt like a bother to older siblings, so when her baby nephew was born she was able to have someone to talk to without having that negative feeling.

Ramirez said “I was the youngest. I didn't really know what it was like having a younger sibling so I would kind of just always be bothering my older siblings because I didn't have anyone to play with. So when my baby nephews was born I finally had someone to play with when I was younger.”. Ramirez said “I was the youngest. Since she wasn’t always cool with having a baby nephew she rarely ever spent time with him and something that she really regretted because she wished she had accepted him sooner. 

“Yea I think I would try to spend more time with him.” Ramirez said. 

Now they are constantly calling, hanging out, and playing lots of games together, usually Roblox.

The more time spent together, the closer the bond they share. Since growing up the youngest she never had a younger sibling. But, sharing these memories and time with her baby nephew she started to see him as a younger brother. 

“He helped me learn things that I would never know as a younger sibling because I don’t know I feel like it's weird, I don’t really know how to explain it because I never… he gave me the experience of having like a younger little brother.” Ramirez said.

From being neutral to now inseparable from her baby nephew. She wouldn’t be able to imagine a better best friend and person that she can always talk to.
