15 year old Emma Guerra never thought she would enjoy football as much as she did but when trying out for the team back in middle school, it turned out to be her favorite sport and activity to do.
Guerra grew up loving many things, including the beach, music and her sisters.
She never exactly loved football but she enjoyed it, and after growing up playing with her sisters and having lots of fun when she was around 12 years old, she started enjoying playing football with her sister and they would go out and play.
Guerra grew through the years, she got closer with her sisters and her love grew for all her favorite things: music, football, sisters, and the beach.
She often goes to the beach to relax and take some time to herself to find peace, since this was also where she grew up playing with her cousins football when they were younger.
She grew to love going to the beach to play but now she prefers going and listening to music, preferably oldies that her mom showed her and she grew up loving
“I listen to like for example me and you and natural high and stuff like that, my mom showed me it like she used to listen to them when she was younger so we kind of just grew to love it” said Guerra about her preferred music choices and of how they came to be
Hers sisters have been a big impact on her, asking how her sisters impacted her,
Guerra replied
“Them like letting me know that I’m worth something…that I have a purpose“
She mentions that her favorite memories is her childhood years
Guerra says
“...I think all of it especially like our childhood”
She spends the most time with them, laughing, talking, playing the sport they all love, that was all her favorite memories she has with them,
She feels like she is with different versions of herself since they are so close and similar.
“and I just enjoy laughing and like just having a smile on my face with them“
Since growing up with her sisters, her love for football grew, although she never thought of playing for real or joining any team, in 6th grade she found out there were tryouts and she thought it would be fun to join, since she did know how to play the sport, she encouraged herself to join and successfully made the team.
Her passion grew each game, feeling the joy of winning and reflecting when they lost to get better. She enjoyed the feeling of running and communicating on the field and the feeling of scoring touchdowns, she continued playing and enjoyed every single game.
"its just like such a good…competitive sport I just enjoy communicating with the people that im playing with" Guerra said about why she loves the sport and plays it
“No I don't play right but I do want to play in the future”
As Guerra carried her love for football throughout her teen years, she enjoys watching it and playing it for fun sometimes but she is not in a team, although she does wish to join one in the future and continue her love and passion for this sport
Guerra found her support system in her teammates, they encouraged her to keep playing and to do her best.
"I think just like my team mates they just encouraged me to keep
Playing and stuff" She says
Guerra says a memory she has about her teammates encouraging her is
“I remember when we had like a quarterback and a backup and the backup got injured so I was the third option, and I remember we were down like two points and they encouraged me to throw good”
She says this is probably her favorite memory playing with her team and them supporting her
As of now Guerra's days consist of spending time with her sisters that she adores and loves being with and playing football in her free time.
